Who loves Muddy Buddies (or Puppy Chow)?
Couple nights ago, I got this sudden craving for Muddy Buddies.
I usually make mine with white chocolate, but since we didn't have any, I made it with what was in our pantry.
I don't know if it's because I haven't had it in so long, but it tasted extra delicious this time.
This isn't a special recipe. It's just the classic recipe.
If you want to give it a little twist, try using white chocolate chips.
It's soooo yummy.

  • 9 cups Chex
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup butter

  1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
  2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
  3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

We always called it puppy chow but it's delicious either way! I made some this Christmas with white chocolate and peppermint pieces.
