Let's quickly talk about how our pooch, Luna went to boot camp recently and came back with a vengeance which caused her to rebel and act out. The amount of love and joy I receive from her is something I can't even put into words. I am that crazy dog owner that treats her dog as of her own kids. At one point I even had an Instagram account just dedicated to her. See? Crazy dog mama right here.

But...... with all the love she has also brought a roaring business to our local carpet cleaning company -- I mean, I'm all for supporting local businesses, but it became excessive and so costly.
Right when she makes a mess, I used to use a spray I found on Amazon that had decent reviews and then use our own hand carpet cleaner, but you know the stain and smell aren't completely cleaned when she makes a mess in the same area AGAIN. By then we call the cleaners, schedule an appointment and by the time they come out, the stain is pretty set into the carpet or rug and it's nearly impossible to remove it fully. Oh, the joy of pet ownership.

Well, you guys know I love sharing great info. Through trial and error, we have finally found the ONE. The one that works for us and I wanted to share that with you guys today.
So here is the deal with Stainmasters. I initially thought they were a carpet protectant -- which is true, but they make these cleaners specifically for pet stains that treat difficult stains AND it's infused with protectant which leaves an invisible shield to help and guard your rug and carpet with any future soiling. It's kind of amazing. Since we started using it, Luna hasn't had accidents in the same area. I'm sure their ODORE REMOVE technology is what's helped with that.

Here is the process we take to clean pet stains:

Note: Test for color-fastness on an inconspicuous area before use and remember-this is a process, make sure to always blot up as much excess liquid before treating, and be patient. No shortcuts!

1. After removing the excess liquid, wet stain with warm water and blot again until the color you see on the rag or paper towel is clear.

2. Spray the Stainmaster Pet Stain Remover liberally to the affected areas. Wait 5 min or so to allow the spray to penetrate the stain.

3. Dampen the spot with water and blot with a clean, colorfast paper towel or cloth. Repeat as necessary to remove the stain. For best results, treat stains immediately.

4. For stubborn set in stains, I also use a hand-held cleaner to treat the spot after the process above and repeat step 2 & 3 at the end.

* This post was brought to you with Stainmaster. As always, I only partner with companies I love and use.

Thank you for sharing this! We are just getting ready to hire cleaners because my pup keeps going on the hallway landing. When we came back from vacation I realized that it had a lingering smell which I had gone noseblind to! I will definitely try this one!
